U.S. Yanks Scathing Report Blasting DHS for Catching Less than 1% of Visa Overstays
Fifteen years after Islamic terrorists exploited the U.S. government’s inept method of tracking visa overstays, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) still uses an antiquated system that doesn’t have the capability to get the job done. This allows foreign individuals, who may “pose severe national security risks” to remain in the country, according to a federal audit that for unknown reasons was yanked from the public domain. A 45-page report was issued this month by the DHS Inspector General and Judicial Watch reviewed it thoroughly before the watchdog mysteriously pulled it from its website. Judicial Watch has repeatedly reached out to the DHS IG’s office but has received no response. Here’s the link  that went bad as also noted by a few other outlets.

To be sure, the findings are an embarrassment to the government because visa overstays have been a major national security issue for well over a decade. Several of the 9/11 hijackers remained in the U.S. after their visa expired to plan and carry out the worst terrorist attack on American soil. A few years after the 2001 attacks Congress launched a system that was supposed to take care of the problem by tracking the entry and exit of foreign nationals with electronically scanned fingerprints and photographs. But five years and $1 billion later, the system, U.S. Visitor and Immigration Status Indicator Technology (US VISIT), still had serious flaws. A few years later the investigative arm of Congress, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), published a report confirming that nearly half of the nation’s illegal aliens entered the U.S. legally and overstayed their visas undetected. In the years that followed the government did little to improve what has developed into a dire national security disaster. In 2011 yet another federal audit confirmed that the U.S. had lost track of millions who overstayed their visas and two years later the crisis intensified when DHS lost track  of 266 dangerous foreigners with expired visas. The government determined that they “could pose a national security or public safety concerns,” according to the director of Homeland Security and Justice at the GAO.

Just last year Judicial Watch obtained DHS figures  showing that more than half a million foreigners with expired visas—like the 9/11 jihadists—remained in the country, thousands of them from terrorist nations like Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and Syria. More than 45,000 Mexicans overstayed their visa, according to the DHS records, and thousands more from El Salvador, Ecuador, Venezuela and China. The visas are granted for “business or pleasure” and the foreigners come via sea or air port of entry. For nearly a decade a number of federal audits have offered the alarming figures associated with visa overstays, including one released back in 2011 that estimates half of the nation’s illegal immigrants entered legally with visas.

This month’s DHS IG report exposes the disturbing reality that the U.S. government has done nothing to prevent another terrorist attack by dangerous elements that remain in the country with an expired visa. Many fall through the cracks because Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the DHS agency responsible for the task, must piece together information from dozens of systems and databases that aren’t reliable. The problem is so out of control that ICE must depend on often sketchy data provided by third parties such as commercial carrier passenger lists that often provide false visitor departure and arrival information. “Such false departure information resulted in [Enforcement and Removal Operations] officers closing visa overstay investigations of dangerous individuals, such as suspected criminals, who were actually still in the United States and could pose a threat to national security,” according to the DHS IG report. “For example, [a deportation] officer stated that a suspect under investigation was listed as having left the country, but had given his ticket to a family member and was still residing in the United States.”

Here are the overall figures that illustrate how bad the problem is; of more than half a million visa overstays identified by the DHS watchdog, a mere 3,402 were caught by federal authorities. It gets better. The various unreliable databases that ICE uses also provided inaccurate information on the 0.4% that got busted, according to the report. “In some cases, the individuals arrested had been reported in DHS systems as having already left the United States,” the report states. “Because this information was not recorded, ICE personnel were unable to provide an exact number when asked during our audit.”

In 2015, the U.S. issued nearly 11 million visas and, though only a small percentage overstay, they pose serious national security risks, the watchdog found. As an example, the report mentions the 9/11 hijackers who overstayed their visa. “This prompted the 9/11 Commission to call for the government to ensure that all visitors to the United States are tracked on entry and exit,” DHS investigators remind. Instead, there is a backlog of 1.2 million expired visa cases, the report says.

President Trump Will Go Heads Up With Fake News Network Anchors...Literally
Politico's Hadas Gold reports that Trump is set to have lunch with network anchors tomorrow, according to sources.
The White House confirmed the lunch. Anchors are changing their broadcast location to accomodate the lunch:
At least one anchor, Scott Pelley, is moving the CBS evening news show from New York to Washington on Wednesday and Thursday partly as a result of the lunch.
MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' -- hosted by newly engaged anchors Joe Scarborough and Mika Brerzisnki -- will also broadcast from Washington, DC as they announced on set today. These two anchors have a long history with Trump and were initially very complimentary of his bid for the White House.
As of recently, their relationship has soured. This week they resorted to baseless attacks on one of Trump's top advisors Kellyanne Conway.
While the lunch will be "off the record", it's guaranteed to be interesting. Given the media's gift for gab there's sure to be some leaks of the meetings details. We will follow the developments.
Perhaps the President will 'eat their lunch'.

I think there are a lot of people over staying their Visas.  The people who are to check are not doing their job because I am sure there are a lot of them out there.  Imagine a backlog of 1.2 million.  Someone isn't doing their job or they need to hire more.  I bet half of the education Visas are expired and they have jobs here.

1.2 mil! Try 15 mil! Govt says about 500k visa overstays occur annually. Multiply by 30 yrs since the last amnesty.

Never even thought of that!!  They need to fine the businesses that are hiring these people and know that their visas expire.  We have a real problem.

Fox News Personality Confirms Talks with Trump to Replace Spicer
Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former first lady of San Francisco and current Fox News host, is in conversations with the Trump administration about becoming White House press secretary, she said in an interview with the Bay Area News Group on Monday night.

Guilfoyle said the idea of her taking the job or another press role in the White House has been “raised by a number of people” in the Trump administration, although she declined to go into specifics. She noted that she’s regularly in touch with members of the administration in the course of her job.

“I’m a patriot, and it would be an honor to serve the country,” Guilfoyle said. “I think it’d be a fascinating job. It’s a challenging job, and you need someone really determined and focused, a great communicator in there with deep knowledge to be able to handle that position.
”The 48-year-old Guilfoyle is a former San Francisco and Los Angeles prosecutor who was married for four years to former San Francisco mayor and current Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom. The two separated in 2005 when she moved to New York to start a career in television. She’s now one of the co-hosts of the Fox News show “The Five.”

25 'impeachable' Obama scandals far more serious than Comey firing

Ex-president racked up BIG LIST of outrageous abuses of executive power

Published: 19 hours ago

But constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley, who voted for President Obama, warned “impeachment” enthusiasts not to get ahead of themselves with President Trump. Why?

At this time, there’s no evidence Trump actually committed a crime.

“The criminal code demands more than what Comey reportedly describes in his memo,” Turley wrote in a May 17 opinion piece posted at the Hill. Turley explained:

For the first time, the Comey memo pushes the litany of controversies surrounding Trump into the scope of the United States criminal code.

However, if this is food for obstruction of justice, it is still an awfully thin soup. Some commentators seem to be alleging criminal conduct in office or calling for impeachment before Trump completed the words of his inaugural oath of office. Not surprising, within minutes of the New York Times report, the response was a chorus of breathless “gotcha” announcements. But this memo is neither the Pentagon Papers nor the Watergate tapes. Indeed, it raises as many questions for Comey as it does Trump in terms of the alleged underlying conduct.

A good place to start would be with the federal law, specifically 18 U.S.C. 1503. The criminal code demands more than what Comey reportedly describes in his memo. There are dozens of different variations of obstruction charges ranging from threatening witnesses to influencing jurors. None would fit this case. That leaves the omnibus provision on attempts to interfere with the “due administration of justice.”

However, that still leaves the need to show that the effort was to influence “corruptly” when Trump could say that he did little but express concern for a longtime associate. The term “corruptly” is actually defined differently under the various obstruction provisions, but it often involves a showing that someone acted “with the intent to secure an unlawful benefit for oneself or another.” Encouraging leniency or advocating for an associate is improper but not necessarily seeking an unlawful benefit for him.

While Turley said a request from Trump to the FBI director to end such an investigation would be “wildly inappropriate,” he cautioned: “[W]e need to move beyond the hyperventilated pronouncements of criminal conduct or impeachable offenses based on this memo. This conversation in the Oval Office is a valid matter of concern and worthy of further investigation. It is not proof of an impeachable offense any more than it is proof of a crime.”

Andrew C. McCarthy led the prosecution of Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman and others for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and plots to blow up other New York City landmarks. He told WND and Radio America Wednesday the Comey memo and alleged Trump statements about Flynn are a far cry from constituting obstruction of justice.

“I don’t think we’re close to being there yet because, even though I am sure that then-Director Comey must have found the conversation with President Trump to be awkward and inappropriate, I don’t think there’s anything corrupt about it,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy said it’s hard to draw any sweeping conclusions from a few scraps of a conversation.

“The most important thing about obstruction of justice is context. We don’t really have context here. We have one statement that’s mined out of what must be a larger memo,” he said.

He said there needs to be concrete evidence of corruption to pursue obstruction of justice allegations.

“Corruption is the heart of obstruction of justice,” McCarthy explained. “The person has to act intentionally, knowing that what he’s doing is wrong, and intend to subvert the truth-seeking process.”

Caught! Minnesota Muslims with 'bomb-making devices' in car

'It's alarming. They are preparing for war'

Suspects arrested last Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Minneapolis, allegedly with an arsenal in their vehicle.

Suspects Abdullah Alrifahe and Majid Alrifahe, both of Minneapolis, were arrested last Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Minneapolis, allegedly with an arsenal in their vehicle.

A routine police check in Minnesota resulted in the arrest of two Muslim men on charges they were driving around with an arsenal of weapons including bomb-making devices.

Abdullah N. Alrifahe, 27, and Majid N. Alrifahe, 26, both of Minneapolis, were arrested May 11 after police had reason to search their car and found a hand grenade, handgun, several assault rifles and magazines and a large quantity of ammunition, according to the police report. They also found cellphones, drone parts, computers and electronics devices capable of igniting a bomb.

Former Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann said the size of the cache should send off alarm bells for local police, as it signals that an active Islamic terrorist cell could be operating in the city. But the city seems paralyzed by political correctness, she said.

“Of course we have cells in Minnesota, but the Minneapolis police believe the religion of peace doesn’t commit terror acts,” Bachmann said. “The hijab-wearing Minneapolis mayor [Betsy Hodges] and the police department blind and disarm themselves because their Muslim advisers tell them that’s what they should do.”

According to police, both men gave their address as a nearby public housing building. Both have a criminal history. Abdullah has prior convictions for weapons violations. He has also been convicted of receiving stolen property. Both men are listed as having numerous arrests, not only in Minnesota but also in Texas.

“This is more evidence of failure from the discredited CVE program,” Bachmann said.

The CVE or “countering violent extremism” pilot program under President Obama was first tried in Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Boston before being expanded throughout the nation. It focuses on “violent extremism” inspired by a host of causes such as “white supremacism” and “right-wing” ideology while portraying Islam as just one of many possible causes of terrorism.

The CVE program also led to an attempt to rehabilitate Somali Muslim terrorists, which WND recently reported has failed miserably.

Here is how the two men’s cache was found: Police said a man walked by a parked car in north Minneapolis about 5 p.m. last Thursday and confronted the people inside after they threw food wrappers on the ground. They ignored him until he paused to get the car license number. But the men got out of their car and indicated they had guns, according to a May 15 criminal complaint.

“The man flagged down officers, the complaint says, but the men from inside the car continued to yell at him and resisted the officers’ attempts to control the situation,” the Star-Tribune reports. The men insisted they needed to be near the car because a drone was coming to “deliver a package,” according to the complaint. Because of the suspicious circumstances and fear for the man’s safety, the police placed the two men in a squad car while they searched their vehicle.

That’s when the weapons were found.

Bomb-squad personnel called to the scene noted that the large amount of ammunition and electronic devices could be used for bomb-making, the complaint said.

“We are in the middle of an insurgency and in order for it to be stopped, we need a counter-insurgency effort,” said Debra Anderson, head of the Minnesota chapter of ACT for America. “It’s alarming. They are preparing for war. And the first line of defense is going to be our neighborhoods. That’s why I’ve been primarily focused on educating my fellow Minnesotans about the nature of the threat.”

She said sheriffs, legislators and pastors hold the key to defeating the threat, which will be defeated at the local and state level. “Pastors are the hardest nut to crack.”

Alrifahe, 27, was charged with a gross misdemeanor for carrying a handgun in public without a permit and was convicted of the offense in December
